M3 Italian Seafood and Steak 33 Chik Fu St, Tai Wai. A well decked out Italian Restaurant with an extensive menu of Steak and Seafood dishes. Slightly pricy for Tai Wai.
Trend Vietnamese Restaurant 31 Chik Fu St, Tai Wai. A very good and cheap Vietnamese restaurant. Usually queues outside as a small place with very tasty food.
(Also on Chik Fu St is a Japanese Restaurant, Dai Pai Dongs, Pasta and Oyster House, 616 Restaurant (Taiwanese Noodles) and many others. 2 minutes from Exit A Tai Wai MTR.)
Vanilla Thai Restaurant 6-14 Chik Shun St, Tai Wai. A large Thai restaurant. Reasonable food but a little expensive.
Above Vanilla Thai is a large Japanese Hot Pot restaurant which is very popular.
Onion Kitchen Restaurant 4 Chik Sau Lane, Tai Wai. A western style restaurant which changes it’s menu regularly. Good food and some good reviews on Open Rice. (Very close to Exit A Tai Wai MTR.
Shatin Inn 71/2 Miles, Tai Po Road, Tai Wai. A very old and famous Indonesian restaurant. This restaurant is as it was 40 years ago and still going strong. Satay’s, Rendang.. Etc. Don’t be put off by the plastic plates! A 10 minute walk up Chik Wan St. Come out of Exit G and turn left. Worth the walk.
(Several other local restaurants are on Chik Cheun St including Buddy’s Kitchen which is worth a try, and several local restaurants including a famous Hot Pot restaurant 2 doors down from the Windmill). All 5 mins walk from Exit A Tai Wai MTR

Speak Easy Wine Pub 11-13 Chik Tak Lane, Tai Wai. A very cool bar with happy hour till 9pm-popular with Tai Wai expat community and has friendly staff. Good selection of food and drink. A small bar but with a nice atmosphere.
Windmill Restaurant and Bar 50 Chik Cheun Street, Tai Wai. Another bar option but lacking the atmosphere of Speak Easy. Large selection of draft beer and champagne. Food average. |
